The project reflects on how housing can respond to long-term demographic changes such as population decline and aging, focusing on creating a residential environment that remains relevant over time. While most housing is designed as a fixed condition, everyday life is constantly shaped by changing family structures and lifestyles. In response, the project introduces the “Joker Unit,” a flexible system that allows each unit to expand or contract as needed, enabling the living space to adapt rather than remain static. Four residential buildings are arranged along a pedestrian-oriented axis, integrating community spaces, gardens, and child-friendly environments into a continuous spatial sequence. Rather than a collection of isolated buildings, the project forms a cohesive living environment where daily activities and social interactions can naturally unfold, proposing a housing model that evolves with its users.

프로젝트는 인구 감소와 고령화와 같은 장기적인 변화 속에서 주거가 어떻게 지속적으로 대응할 수 있는지를 고민하며 시작되었으며, 시간이 지나도 유효한 주거 환경을 만드는 데 초점을 둔다. 대부분의 주거는 한 번 지어지면 고정된 상태로 유지되지만, 실제 삶은 가족 구조와 생활 방식의 변화에 따라 끊임없이 달라진다. 이에 대응하기 위해 이 프로젝트는 ‘조커 유닛’이라는 가변적인 주거 시스템을 제안하며, 각 세대는 필요에 따라 확장되거나 축소될 수 있어 주거 공간이 특정 상태에 머무르지 않고 시간에 따라 유연하게 변화할 수 있도록 한다. 단지는 네 개의 주거동이 보행 중심의 축을 따라 배치되고, 그 사이에는 커뮤니티 공간과 정원, 어린이를 위한 외부 공간이 하나의 연속된 흐름으로 통합된다. 이는 개별 건물의 집합이 아니라 일상과 관계가 자연스럽게 이어지는 생활 환경을 형성하며, 결국 사용자와 함께 변화하고 성장할 수 있는 주거 모델을 제안한다.
